On Friday, January 7, the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) released the first data showing the results of imports of goods and exports. In the first 11 months of 2021, the value of Croatian merchandise exports amounted to HRK 129.1 billion, which is 26.6% more than in the same period in 2020, while imports increased by 23.1%, amounting to HRK 193.4 billion. kuna.
The coverage of imports by exports for the first 11 months amounted to 66.7%, while the foreign trade deficit in the first 11 months of the previous year compared to the same period in 2020 increased by HRK 9.2 billion, or HRK 64.4 billion.
The value of exports to non-EU countries increased to HRK 39.97 billion, or 23%, and imports from these countries increased to HRK 45.4 billion, or 40.6%. In the first 11 months of the previous year, goods worth HRK 89.1 billion were exported to EU member states, which is 28.2% more than in the same period of 2020. Imports from EU member states increased to HRK 148 billion, or 18.5%.
Furthermore, the Central Bureau of Statistics published other data on trade in goods for the first 10 months of the previous year, which state that exports increased to HRK 114.5 billion, or 25.4%, while imports increased to HRK 173.95 billion. HRK, ie by 21.9%.
Thus, CBS corrected its first data according to which the value of Croatian merchandise exports in the first 10 months of the previous year amounted to HRK 113.9 billion, or 24.8% more compared to the same period in 2020. Imports increased to HRK 173.7 billion, or 21.7%.
If we look at the given data in euros, Croatian merchandise exports in the first 11 months of the previous year then amounted to 17.1 billion euros, which is an annual increase of 26.5%. At the same time, imports rose to 25.7 billion euros or 23%. The foreign trade deficit amounted to 8.55 billion euros.
The value of exports to EU member states increased to 11.8 billion euros or 28.2%, and imports from these countries increased to 19.67 billion euros, or 18.5% more than in the same period in 2020. In the first 11 months of the previous year, goods worth 5.3 billion euros were exported to non-EU countries, or 22.8% more than in the same period in 2020. Imports from EU member states increased to 6 billion euros or 40.4%.
